Laurent Garnier (born 1 February 1966), also known as Choice, is a French electronic music producer and DJ. He began DJing in Manchester during the late 1980s and became a producer in the early 1990s, recording several influential albums. He started his journey working at the French Embassy in London before moving to Manchester in 1986, where he discovered the UK house scene and started mixing at venues like The Haçienda under the alias DJ Pedro. After a stint in New York, where he connected with Frankie Knuckles, Garnier returned to France and became a driving force in Paris nightlife through his Wake Up parties at Rex Club. His influence extended to Dijon’s L'An-Fer and key events in Ireland, including multi-night sets and underground parties.

As a producer, Garnier released key works including “French Connection” and “A Bout de Souffle” on FNAC before co-founding F Communications with Eric Morand. His debut album Shot in the Dark came out in 1995, followed by 30 in 1997, which featured the standout single “Crispy Bacon.” He continued pushing boundaries with Unreasonable Behaviour in 2000, featuring one of his most iconic tracks, “The Man with the Red Face.”
